The much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is set to begin with an exciting opener between the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22, Saturday, at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Key updates and highlights for IPL 2025:
- RCB New Captain: The Royal Challengers Bangalore have named Rajat Patidar as their new captain ahead of the season. RCB will be eager to begin their campaign with a victory under Patidar’s leadership.
- SRH vs. Rajasthan Royals: The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), last year’s runners-up, will begin their IPL 2025 journey at home on March 23, Sunday. They will face the Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in an afternoon match.
- New Venues in IPL 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has added Guwahati and Dharamsala as additional venues for IPL 2025. Guwahati will serve as a secondary home ground for Rajasthan Royals, who will play matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings there on March 26 and March 30, respectively.
